With over three decades of professional interior design experience and a foundation in architecture from the University of Maryland, founder Margaret Carroll brings a rare dual perspective to every project. Before launching her firm, Margaret spent years at respected DC-area architecture firms designing mixed-use and commercial buildings, then pivoted to luxury multifamily interiors — designing high-end apartment common areas and residential spaces across the DMV region.
In 2017, Margaret built her own home from the ground up. Navigating contractors, timelines, and every design decision firsthand gave her something no classroom can teach: a deep understanding of what homeowners actually go through — and what they deserve. That experience shaped her approach entirely. Today, Margaret Carroll Interiors specializes in whole-home interior design, new builds, kitchen and bathroom remodels, space planning, furniture selection, and color consultation for residential clients across Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, Georgetown, and the greater DC Metro area.
Margaret's architecture training means she catches what other designers miss - the structural decisions that make a room work before it can ever be beautiful. But she also knows what it means to actually live in a home: light fixtures that land where they should, storage that handles real life, a sunny corner for the dog, and rooms that evolve as your family does.
