Based in Bethesda, Maryland, Margaret Carroll Interiors is a full-service design firm that draws from architectural and interior design expertise to create joyous, balanced, contemporary spaces.
After graduating from the University of Maryland (Go Terps!) I worked for several large, reputable architecture firms in the DC Metro area, designing mixed-use and commercial buildings. My creative instincts eventually led me to expand into interior design. My transition from designing large buildings to multifamily interiors (read: luxury apartments with stunning common areas) was a great one that had a profound impact on me.
I started my own architectural consulting company in 2016 to teach architects and interior designers how to create color renderings using three-dimensional software (Autodesk, Revit, and SketchUp). The following year, we decided to build a new house after tearing down our old one. I developed my aesthetic through this process, which turned out to be whimsical yet polished, while still remaining relatable and functional.
It is said that I am a fast-talking, innovative, straight-shooting East Coast girl with a quick wit who always sees the potential in a space. I strive to provide my clients with functional, aesthetic, and creative solutions, paying close attention to detail to make sure the end result is exactly as they had envisioned. It is important to me that every light fixture is centered, that there is a cabinet large enough for all the coffee (or wine! ), and that every pet has a comfy place to sit in the sun.
I love Mid Century anything.
I coach varsity field hockey for a local high school.
I am crazy and loud when cheering for the University of Maryland Terps basketball team
I stay up late creating renderings in SketchUp while watching/listening to reality TV
I am constantly attempting to cook Asian meals for my two boys and husband. Ask me about a deconstructed, easy to make, sushi dinner that wows my family every time.
Let's work together to create a comfortable, functional, and STUNNING space that feels like your home -- but better.
